The Field Service Application Engineer will leverage strong application expertise, and extensive service experience, to provide leadership in post-sales end-to-end workflow support for Agilent's customers. Come work with a focused field team to ensure successful installation/familiarization of the hardware & software elements of innovative workflow solutions. You will be responsible for diagnosing post-sale technical and applicational challenges and leading troubleshooting efforts to ensure customer productivity and satisfaction. The workflow solutions will include many analytical components such as automation, chromatography, chemistry/columns and supplies, mass spectrometry, and software for data acquisition and analysis. You will liaise with the rest of the Agilent support infrastructure such as the application engineers, field service engineer team, product support, and other escalation resources to resolve customer issues with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • As a member of the focused field team, the Field Service Application Engineer will work closely with the AE and Demo Team, and the Field Application Scientist to implement biopharma workflow solutions successfully.
  • You will be the project lead for the post-sale site-prep, implementation, system familiarization projects, in collaboration with the support/service organization and sales teams.
  • You will be responsible for method development with the accompanied demo presentation for our customers in pre-sales.
  • You will use your expertise in chromatographic techniques to help customers troubleshoot and optimize workflows/applications.
  • Coordinate with field application scientists to deliver high-class customer education and post-sale consultancy support.
  • Application escalations to resolution and customer satisfaction. Work closely with the application engineers, product support and the field engineers to prioritize and resolve customer issues with a sense of urgency.
  • You will leverage your deep understanding of Agilent products and application workflows to confirm functionality and performance of Agilent solutions after an escalation or repair.
  • You must maintain an in-depth understanding of hardware and software elements of key workflows in order to lead troubleshooting efforts in automation, chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • You will leverage your strong knowledge of Agilent software features to educate customers on essential software functionalities - and to optimize their efficiency and productivity in strategic workflow.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 to 5 yers experince working as field support engineer in pharma/biopharma industry
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Excellent and in-depth knowledge of applications, workflows and related software solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to 'think outside the box' to understand customer requirements, and translate those into Agilent solutions
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and customer-support skills
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and coach internal/external customers
  • Excellent project management, influential, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in German and very good English - both in writing and verbally
